Newfoundland and Labrador’s historic town of Bonavista has a 4 ½ Star Inn awaiting your arrival.

The Lancaster Inn is the first accommodation as you enter Bonavista via Route 230 (look for our sign, as well as the large red house set back from the road).  Route 230 becomes Confederation Drive and we are located at No. 219 Confederation Drive, Bonavista.  From the Trans Canada Highway at Clarenville, it will take you approximately 75 - 90 minutes to reach us.  St. John’s and Gander are the two closest airports, each airport site offering car rentals.

Bonavista is a rugged historical town with a beautiful coastline where you will see breathtaking sea stacks and imposing cliffs.  Some of the popular sites are Cape Bonavista lighthouse, Dungeon Provincial Park, Ryan Premises National Historic Site, Matthew Legacy site, the Mockbeggar Plantation, and the King’s Cove Lighthouse Trail.  The Discovery UNESCO Geopark is located on the upper half of the Bonavista Peninsula with a variety of sites where you can tour and learn about the Earth.  Depending on the time of year, you may see icebergs, whales, and puffins. There is no shortage of natural beauty to enjoy.  There are many other local area attractions, which are yours to enjoy.

The Lancaster Inn is named for the re-settled community of Lancaster. Lancaster was the first community on the tip of Cape Bonavista and is very near Spillars Cove, which is where you can currently see the dramatic sea stacks.  A fishing community, it was also the childhood home of the original Lancaster Inn owner, Calvin G Ryder.
