The Melrose Room is named for the scenic fishing community of Melrose that owes its name to Melrose, Scotland, the birthplace of the former Newfoundland governor William MacGregor, who was born there. It was originally named Ragged Harbour for Ragged Island, one of the craggy islands that can be viewed from the Discovery Trail on the way to Bonavista. The rocks and shoals of the harbour limited its development as a small boat port, used to access the historically rich fishing grounds to the south. This room has a Queen bed with private ensuite with tub/shower.
